چکیده

Information visualisation systems often have to cope with presenting large amounts of data. In this paper we look at the problem of reducing the display density through the use of random sampling. We review some of the uses of sampling and examine density reduction techniques currently used in visualisation. We then look at a proposed novel visualisation that utilises sampling and discuss many issues that arise. Furthermore, we propose the ζDB sampling database architecture and demonstrate how this can be used to enhance current visualisation applications. Finally, we describe the architecture of a sampling aware application and illustrate its advantages.

Developing the geographical space cognation through architectural experiences (Case study: A study of spatial cognation of primary school students in Tehran)

Since geographical space is a subjective space, due to the difference in the spatial cognation of different people, its perception can be changed from person to person. This cognation depends on the person's experiences of the environment and can be taught. On the other hand, the best age for this training is childhood. But this issue has received less attention. Therefore, the aim of this stud...

An importance sampling method based on the density transformation of Lévy processes

In this paper, we develop an importance sampling method with the help of flexible control on the Lévy measure in the density transformation. The method has significant efficacy even on evaluating random variables with complex path-dependent structures. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate convergence acceleration through variance reduction with a view towards financial derivatives pri...

Ant-Inspired Density Estimation via Random Walks

Many ant species use distributed population density estimation in applications ranging from quorum sensing, to task allocation, to appraisal of enemy colony strength. It has been shown that ants estimate local population density by tracking encounter rates: The higher the density, the more often the ants bump into each other. We study distributed density estimation from a theoretical perspectiv...

Investigating Sacred Architectural Values of Traditional Mosques Based on the Improvement of Spiritual Design Quality in the Architecture of Modern Mosques (Case Study: Traditional Mosques in Iran)

In the history of Iranian architecture, mosques have always been the apex of Islamic art and architecture. The architecture of mosques seeks inspiration from the concepts of divine words to provide a space connecting the heavens and the material world and create a single spiritual environment. It is so important to identify the transcendental values of the past and choose the most essential val...

The Spectral Analysis of Impulse Processes

An expression for the spectral density of the impulse process s(t) = ~ :~ a~(t t,) is derived under the assumption that {an} is a s tat ionary process, and that {t~} is a stat ionary point process independent of {a~}. The spectral density appears as an infinite series in terms of the correlation of {a~} and the interval statistics of Its}. The same result was obtained b y Leneman by a different...
